Rebecca Kammes, Ph.D. Candidate, Human Development and Family Studies, College of Social Science
Rebecca is a doctoral candidate in the Couple and Family Therapy Program of the Human Development and Family Studies Department at Michigan State University (MSU). Her main research area is sexuality and intimate relationships for adults with disabilities, with a focus on education to prevent sexual assault and abuse. She is interested in taking a family therapy lens to this issue by also working with family members of individuals with disabilities through trainings and clinical work during the life phase of transition into adulthood. She plans to use community-based participatory research in order to work within the community to create and implement the most effective change mechanisms.
