Yuemei Lu, a PhD student from the Department of Kinesiology in the Cognitive and Motor Neuroscience cognate. She is working in the Physical Activity for Youth with Disabilities (PLAY’D) Laboratory directed by Dr. Janet Hauck. Her research interest is focused on the design and implementation of an intervention to promote motor skills, physical activity, and communicative skills of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). To be more specific, she is interested in the impact of neurotypical siblings on the development of their sisters/brothers with ASD. Training neurotypical children to better interact and guide their siblings with ASD, designing and implementing sibling-mediated or sibling-guided interventions is what she is passionate about.
