Laura Dilley, associate professor, Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders, received her bachelor's degree from MIT and a PhD from MIT and Harvard.

She has received funding from the National Institutes of Health to conduct research on properties of maternal speech that predict the development of speech-language skills in infants with hearing loss as well as on temporal patterns in child speech and language. In 2009 she received the prestigious National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award to investigate how pitch and timing cues in speech context influence word perception.
