Karin Pfeiffer, associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology, is a faculty member in the Center for Physical Activity and Health at Michigan State University and a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM). She has been studying physical activity and health-related fitness in children and youth - working with age groups ranging from preschool through college - for the past 16 years. Her main areas of expertise are in measuring and applying interventions to increase physical activity. The bulk of her work has been conducted within school settings, but she intends to branch into family and community settings as well.
