Bio

John Carlson, professor, Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Special Education, and director of the School Psychology Doctoral Program, is a Licensed Psychologist and co-author of the book Counseling Students in Levels 2 and 3: A PBIS/RTI Guide (Corwin, 2013).

His research interests include examining the use of medical and psychological interventions on the behavior of school-aged children. He's particularly interested in developing school-based evaluations of psychopharmacological treatments for behaviors associated with autism. The goal of his work as a scientist-practitioner is to ensure proper and effective educational and mental health services for children that experience challenges at school, home, or in the community.
